A Day at Longhouse by Tabatha

I am at Long House in Mesa Verde. Long House is a 1 mile hike to this building that Pueblo people made. Pueblo people are a type of Indians and they made houses like Long House. Long House was used for storing food, cooking, having meetings and parties and sleeping. Long House is in an alcove in a cliff. An alcove is cut out of a cliff caused by water. On the way back I saw a coyote and it ran across the trail!!! My dad and I saw it and it was my first time I saw a coyote. I jumped at first because I was scared. My dad was surprised because coyotes come out at night and it came out in the afternoon!!! More to come next soon!!!

  1. Tabatha, I loved that you shared your thoughts on the Pueblo people and the places that they built. I think you are a very lucky girl to be able to see so much of the country with your family. You will have memories to last a lifetime, and when you return to these places when you are older, you will remember the wonderful time you had there the first time you visited.

  2. Tabatha,
What a great post! I love reading about your adventures. I hope you are having a wonderful time.
    Miss you,
    Auntie Julie
