Anyone who knows me knows that I love to read.  Since college, I do not recall a time when I was not currently reading a book.  The minute I finish one, I grab another and I have a long list of things that I want to read, which only gets longer as the years go by.  The day I graduated from college, I started keeping a list of every book that I read, and that list is now well over 350 books long.

I am in a very active Book Club.  We meet once a month and we actually read the books.  And we actually discuss the books, often times heated debates fueled by good wine.  My amazing friend Kara is in this Book Club, and for the past several years she has embarked on a personal challenge…. to read 52 books each year, which is roughly one book per week.  She does an amazing job of tracking these books on a colorful weekly calendar.  One of my favorite things to do when I go to her home is check the calendar to see what she’s reading and how far ahead, or behind, she is with her goal.  Kara was kind enough to let me snap a photo of her completed 2017 calendar, and her current 2018 attempt.  As I type, she is currently a month ahead of schedule.

This year I decided to embark on this book challenge myself.  You can track my progress here.
